The Bhama Kalapam recounts the story of Lord Krishna's divine
consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama and how the latter felt that she
held only second place in the Lord's ear. How Krishna assuaged her
hurt ego is the theme of this story. Swapnasundari is a singer-dancer
of extraordinary skill and artistry. She has revived the almost non
existent practice of the dancer herself singing in her performance. In
this rendition, she has sung different sections of Bhama Kalapam
together in an unbroken narrative.
